Role Overview

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with 8-10 years of food quality experience who wants to own QA operations across co-manufacturers and suppliers, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll be the primary contact for Quality Operations, working closely with Operations, NPD, to keep our products compliant, safe, and consistently excellent.

What you will do

Lead & Elevate Quality Standards

  • Own the Quality Assurance strategy for all Rip Van product lines.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, FSVP, HACCP, GFSI, GMP and other applicable standards.
  • Act as the primary regulatory liaison (FDA, certification bodies).

Drive Continuous Improvement & Risk Mitigation

  • Lead co-manufacturer & supplier audits, risk assessments, and Quality Scorecards.
  • Monitor consumer complaints, identify trends, and drive root-cause analysis & CAPAs.
  • Guide shelf-life studies and process improvements to reduce risks.
  • Present monthly Quality performance reports & strategic improvement recommendations to senior leadership.

Partner Across Teams

  • Provide technical guidance to the NPD team to ensure product quality from development to commercialization.
  • Work with Customer Service & Sales Support teams to resolve quality-related inquiries.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across co-mans and internal teams.

Lead Critical Processes

  • Own the Recall & Crisis Management policy and ensure readiness across partners.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Management, or related field
  • 8–10+ years of QA experience in the food & beverage industry, with proven success managing Quality across multiple facilities/co-mans.
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing facility environment
  • 5+ implementing processes, conducting audits, etc. from a corporate perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMP, FSVP, GFSI; FSPCA PCQI & FSVP certification required
  • Proven track record in building QA systems, leading audits, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership & cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Willing to travel up to 20-25% (mainly domestic).
