What We Do

Wagmo is a new type of pet health company focused on empowering and inspiring responsible pet parenting through top-tier pet benefits provided by employers. From everyday care to rainy-day emergencies, we offer tech-enabled solutions that are optimized for value and flexibility so that our pet parents always feel confident that they are giving their pets the care they deserve.

What’s Important To Us

We solve hard problems all day long but hang out with dogs while we do it. We value authenticity and efficiency and have no time for egos. We prioritize performance over pedigree, compensate fairly, and never take ourselves too seriously. Our values are core to who we are and how we operate. We talk about them all the time. These are not just things posted on a wall. We will interview for them, hold each other accountable to them, and make sure we work with every single person we interact with in a way that’s consistent with these values.

About The Role

We are hiring a Senior Front End Engineer to help us modernize and consolidate our front end stack at a pivotal moment. You’ll play a hands-on role completing our migration to a Turborepo-based architecture, building shared component libraries, porting our mobile app to React Native, and integrating our CMS — all while shipping features that directly improve the lives of pet parents and the employers who support them.

You bring deep expertise in React and TypeScript, care about component quality and developer experience, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where you can make meaningful architectural calls. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and Back End Engineering, and you’ll help raise the bar for how we build across web and mobile.

Our Tech Stack: React · TypeScript · React Native · Next.js · Node.js · Flutter (legacy) · builder.io · GitHub · Slack · Notion · Claude

Core Responsibilities

  • Complete and own the migration of our logged-in dashboard (webclient) to our monorepo architecture, including page routing, component migration, form mutations, and phased cutover.

  • Build and grow a shared component library that works across web and mobile surfaces, enabling faster, more consistent product development.

  • Lead the port of our mobile app from Flutter to React Native, establishing a unified codebase and significantly improving cross-platform feature velocity.

  • Integrate builder.io more deeply into our stack to enable CMS-managed content across dashboard pages, the quiz, and FAQs — reducing the need for engineering involvement in content changes.

  • Implement robust error handling, idempotency patterns, and Sentry hygiene across the front end to improve reliability and reduce noise.

  • Partner with Back End Engineering to migrate the front end off V1 API endpoints onto clean V2 APIs as we modernize our back end.

  • Drive front end best practices: code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • 5+ years of front end engineering experience, ideally at a high-growth SaaS or consumer tech company

  • Expert-level React and TypeScript skills

  • Experience with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx, or similar) and building shared component libraries

  • Familiarity with React Native and a willingness to own cross-platform mobile development

  • Comfort working with headless CMS tools (builder.io experience a plus)

  • Strong understanding of modern front end architecture: routing, state management, API integration, performance optimization, and error handling

  • Experience with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing

  • Strong communicator who can lead projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and work with Product and Design without hand-holding

  • Autonomous and high-ownership; comfortable making calls under ambiguity in a fast-moving environment

Why Consider This Role?

  • Join at a pivotal moment — our front end infrastructure is mid-transformation and you’ll shape how it lands

  • Work across web and mobile with a real opportunity to consolidate and modernize both surfaces

  • Revolutionize the pet health industry by building the products that improve the lives of pets and their families at scale

  • Join a rapidly growing, VC-backed startup where ownership, impact, and collaboration drive success

Key Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage

  • HSA/FSA

  • 401(k) retirement planning with employer matching

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Annual company holidays

  • Additional company-wide recharge days off

  • 12 weeks parental leave for eligible employees

  • Company paid Wagmo pet wellness and insurance plans

  • Regular company-wide events and team gatherings

  • Pet-friendly office

  • Catered lunches

We here at Wagmo strive to build a workforce composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities, minds, and identities that will help us to grow, not only as a company, but also as individuals. Wagmo is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
