Our proprietary platform delivers real-time tools and education, enabling individuals and their advisors to evaluate, select, and implement best-in-class tax mitigation strategies.
The proof is in the results: We quickly scaled to 7 figures of annual revenue and profitability with 15 team members, and we have partnerships with some of the top investment advisory firms in the business. Given that traction, we have raised money from a group of top early-stage investors, including Vibe Capital, Box Group, Canaan Partners, BasisSet, and notable angels. As demand accelerates, we are expanding our team to help more individuals preserve and grow their wealth.

About This Role
We are hiring our founding HR Team member whose primary focus will be leading Recruiting & Hiring to fuel the next phase of our growth to 8 figures in annual revenue. Your primary mission will be to find, attract, and hire the next wave of exceptional talent as we scale our team.
As our first dedicated HR hire, your impact will extend far beyond recruiting. You will have the opportunity own the entire employee lifecycle—from designing world-class onboarding experiences to managing payroll, leading HR initiatives, and intentionally shaping our company culture. You’ll work in a close-knit team, collaborate directly with leadership, and ensure Valur remains an incredible place to work as we scale.

Key Responsibilities
Sourcing
- Write compelling, accurate job descriptions and manage postings to maximize qualified top-of-funnel volume.
- Build proactive candidate pipelines for technical, sales, and operational roles through outbound outreach, referrals, and job boards — not just inbound applicants.
- Track sourcing channel performance and double down on what converts.
Screening
- Conduct structured screens that assess skills, motivation, comp expectations, and remote-work fit — delivering only high-signal candidates to hiring managers.
- Define screening rubrics with hiring managers upfront so evaluation is consistent and fast.
- Maintain a clean, up-to-date ATS with fast candidate response times (no one waits more than 24 hours for an update).
Interviewing
- Design and run structured interview loops with clear criteria, trained interviewers, and calibrated scorecards for each role.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics to keep time-to-hire short and the candidate experience seamless.
- Run debriefs that drive fast, evidence-based hiring decisions and reduce bias.
Closing
- Own the offer process end to end: comp benchmarking, offer construction, and delivering offers that sell.
- Anticipate and handle counteroffers and competing offers; keep candidates warm from offer to start date.
- Sell Valur's mission, trajectory, and remote culture throughout the process so closing starts at first touch.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, or a generalist HR role.
- Background in a tech-forward environment — startup or major tech company experience is highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to authentically represent Valur's mission and culture to candidates.
