Position Overview:
Tyra Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated and committed scientist to join our cell biology team focused on developing purpose-built therapies to overcome tumor resistance. The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of cancer cell biology, with extensive experience working on in-vitro assay development. Someone who is comfortable working independently at the bench, flexible to change as needs arise, and excited to work cross functionally will love this opportunity.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and implement assays to enable accurate and timely efficacy assessments of novel drug candidates.
- Utilize a variety of classic and novel molecular methods to perform in-depth analyses of cancer cells.
- Enable key project decisions by timely and efficient data delivery, interpretation, data harmonization, and presentation.
- Analyze, interpret, harmonize, deliver and present results in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and present results as needed.
- Follow and manage multiple concurrent experiments according to research needs.
- Coordinate and communicate within the cell biology group as well as cross-functionally with other groups within the company.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field; M.S. with more than 4 years or B.S with more than 6 years of relevant work experience is required. Industry experience preferred.
- Extensive experience working with multiple mammalian cell lines concurrently.
- Wide breadth of molecular technical expertise, ideally with cell-based assays.
- Demonstrated capacity to quickly identify and troubleshoot challenges and successfully deliver results.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present results to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential in this collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in organization and task management, and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within established timelines.
- Strong attention to detail, a sense of responsibility, persistence, and the ability to collaborate across diverse scientific disciplines.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new projects, methodologies, and techniques.
- Commitment to fostering scientific learning and engaging in collaborative discussions.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Pay Range and Benefits:
Base Salary Range: $128,731 - $147,106
Individual compensation will be determined based on factors such as work location, skills, education, training, and experience.
