About Us
Taptap Send is backed by top VCs (Spark, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital, etc.), rapidly growing and a great place for those looking for both impact and a fast-paced tech startup environment. Read more about the journey in Reid Hoffman’s words or TechCrunch article
Launched in 2019, Taptap is tapping into a transformative shift in global finance: from banks to phones. While this has affected wealthier countries as well, it has been nothing short of a revolution for the emerging markets where the overwhelming majority of population had been unable to access digital finance previously. Taptap Send allows immigrants to send money home instantly and with no fee*, saving money in the process. With a formal market size of >700B alone, we’ve got a lot more saving to do for our users. Our mission is to reduce inequity by helping immigrants move money home, and become the leading cross-border fintech for emerging markets. And that’s just the beginning...
*We charge fees for transfers on fixed exchange rate corridors (e.g., XOF, XAF).
Our Investors
Spark Capital, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital (Jim Breyer), Unbound (Shravin Mittal), Wamda (Fadi Ghandour), Firstminute Capital, Slow Ventures (Sam Lessin), Helios Partners (Souleymane Ba), Crossbeam Ventures (Ali Hamed), Nikesh Arora, Samih Toukan, and many other context-specific angels
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Fraud Operations Manager to take our fraud operations to the next level. You’ll lead a team of analysts, overhaul outdated manual processes, and build scalable workflows that keep our platform secure while we grow.
If you’re energised by improving systems, coaching teams, and turning frontline insights into strategic action - this role is for you. You’ll work closely with Analytics, Product, CS, and report to the Head of Fraud, to ensure the team runs efficiently and stays ahead of emerging fraud patterns.
Key Responsibilities
Run Fraud Ops: Lead day-to-day fraud operations tasks, alerts, escalations, chargebacks/disputes, and reviews.
Streamline Processes: Identify and deprecate repetitive manual tasks (e.g., daily dashboards), replacing them with smarter, automated workflows and prioritised queues.
Develop Typologies: Build playbooks for key fraud types (e.g., card cycling, ATO, promo abuse, scams), with tags, alert logic, key metrics, and clear response playbooks.
Upskill and Delegate: Assign ownership of fraud verticals to analysts, with redundancy and documentation in place. Develop team members into specialists with defined paths for growth.
Own Ops Metrics: Maintain and improve dashboards that track false positives/negatives, rule hit rates, review times, and chargeback performance. Use metrics to drive action and tune rulesets.
Support New Products: Define and launch fraud ops support for new product flows including processes, alerts, review logic, and internal documentation.
You Have:
4+ years experience in fraud or financial risk operations, ideally within fintech or payments
Strong instincts for systems, prioritisation, and team management
Experience with tools like Sift, Mode, and Zendesk are a plus
Excellent judgment and written communication under pressure
Hands-on, low-ego approach committed to enhancing efficiency
Ability to collaborate across teams and build high-trust relationships
Combines an eye for detail, with a pragmatic attitude to getting things done, and a ‘no task too small’ mentality
The ability to work independently and balance priorities
The right to work in London
Taptap Values
Impact first

Accept reality
Propose solutions
