Job Description - Backend Technical Lead

We are hiring for a lead engineer who enjoys building cloud native applications and mentoring other engineers. We’re looking for someone who is an ambitious learner, excited to hit the keyboard, and can work both collaboratively and autonomously. We’ll expect you to wear a lot of hats and that you enjoy doing so.

You Will

• Help build and execute on our roadmap to continuously improve our platform’s scalability
• Lead technical decisions while building buy-in across the organization
• Collaborate with the frontend lead engineer to come up with solutions that work for all slices of the stack
• Write scalable software for large user bases with attention to latency
• Focus on backend design and architecture in a hands-on capacity
• Mentor and unblock other engineers

‍

You Have

• At least seven years of professional experience building production-grade software
• Complex systems design experience including understanding trade-offs and modern methodologies
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading large technical projects from end to end
• Proven record of building cloud native large-scale and concurrent systems
• Expertise in a strongly typed & compiled languages like Go, Rust, Java, or C++
• Experience and/or desire to work at an early-stage startup
