SMBX is building a new financial system putting Small Businesses front and center by engaging their communities and national communities to not just “buy local” but to “invest local.” Our mission is to give people the power over their money and invest in the world they want to see, while simultaneously helping Small Businesses achieve their financial and business goals through strategic funding.

About the Job:
As one of our sales hires, you’ll be tasked with building, managing, and growing our issuer pipeline quickly and efficiently within the New York area. You’ll work closely with the Leaders of all our teams, i.e., Sales, Operations, and Marketing as well as other Account Executives to scale SMBX’s go to market strategy both regionally and nationally.

You’ll be working a pipeline of cold leads to grow our portfolio of New York businesses.

The ideal candidate has account executive experience, is familiar with a startup environment, has previous experience in the small business lending space, and is excited to build out our sales team long-term.

Responsibilities
Use HubSpot to track all sales activities
Generate leads, design, and execute cold calling & outreach; email outreach campaigns, establish new accounts, and manage existing accounts to achieve specific sales goals.
Analyze Financial Statements to quickly determine if businesses qualify for SMBX
Develop a good working knowledge of small business finance and startup capital raise needs to allow for informed, clear, confidence-inducing communications with small businesses and their referral partners
Identify new approaches to acquiring high quality small and medium-sized small businesses
Exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual growth goals
Maintain a customer-service driven and partnership-focused operations environment
Act as the point of contact for small businesses and their financial service providers
Promote a customer-oriented focus and advocate for strong client and referral partner relationships
Inform and assist the marketing team in user acquisition and retention efforts

Desired Skills and Experience
Anywhere from 3 to 7 years of experience across Sales and Finance Roles or small business banking
A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
Critical thinking and strong decision-making abilities
An ability to translate complex business concepts into concise and intuitive conversations, and put structure to unstructured problems
An entrepreneurial mindset and an ability to thrive under minimal guidance
A desire to grow your career in sales
Critical thinking and strong decision-making abilities
No reservations communicating over the phone and Zoom
Passionate about helping small business owners
