Smartly.io is looking for a Product Analytics Manager to lead our Product Analytics team! Our product analytics team works with different parts of the organisation, spanning from Product Management and Design to Customer Success, Sales, Marketing and Finance. Our team develops scalable analytics solutions to questions ranging from product feature adoption to customer profitability and churn. We also work closely with our Data Engineering team to manage and develop our data assets.

We are seeking an experienced lead to guide the team and deepen Smartly’s data-driven culture. You’ll partner with stakeholders to focus on the highest-impact priorities, shape the conceptual and technical design of analytics solutions, and coach analysts to do their best work. You’ll also stay hands-on with the data and build when it matters.

At Smartly.io, analytics runs on the modern data stack. We utilise Airflow and Fivetran for data ingestion, dbt for data modelling, Tableau for productionized dashboards and Redash and Jupyter Notebooks for analyses. Our data warehouse is built on top of BigQuery. You will own much of the tech stack and be responsible for developing our technical capabilities further. In addition to the tech stack, you will manage relations with the different operational units, ensuring that we work towards common, data-derived KPI’s and share a common source of truth for those KPI’s.

As the Product Analytics Manager at Smartly.io, you will:

  • Own product analytics end-to-end workflow : for analytics: Analysts design, build and operate their data products (models, metrics, dashboards, experiments).
  • Own the analytics platform on BigQuery + dbt and the pipelines into it; partner closely with Data Engineering on streaming (Kafka) and batch ingestion. Raise the engineering bar (reviews, CI, tests, lineage, SLOs) and the product impact bar (clear North Star metrics, causal analyses, and experimentation at feature velocity)
  • SLOs: Define availability & freshness SLOs for core marts with incident response runbooks.
  • Build, develop and maintain our data marts and develop scalable solutions in analytics engineering
  • Set the analytics strategy and roadmap aligned to product outcomes; maintain a transparent, prioritised backlog with clear ROI.
  • Lead experimentation: design robust tests, power analysis, guardrails; educate PMs/Designers; make experiment results self-serve.
  • Coach & grow the team: analytics craft (causal inference, behavioural product analytics) + engineering craft (testing, performance, cost).
  • Partner with Data Engineers on Kafka ingress patterns and schema evolution; prevent breaking changes.
  • Replace slides with live dashboards: standardise executive/ops views (Quality, SLIs/SLAs, Roadmap/Delivery, Usage/Adoption, Revenue/Unit Economics).

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable technical skills in analytics, analytics engineering, and statistical analysis
  • Experience in leading and growing an analytics team in a data-driven environmentStrong communication and presentation skills, you can turn data into stories and convince others with your expertise. You will be ensuring that analytics gets the respect (and resources) it deserves.
  • Experience with business & product analytics, preferably at a product-led tech / SAAS company
  • An understanding of data warehousing
  • A good knowledge of typical key business KPIs for SaaS companies
