We’re now looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our data science focused team called AI Product Lab, Media. You will develop our products in an agile environment together with your peers, supporting teams, and occasionally also our end users – the largest online marketers globally. As a Senior Data Scientist at Smartly, you will...

  • Use your skills in machine learning, Bayesian modeling, or deep learning to continuously improve our customer experience by creating new ways to automate their work and optimize online marketing.
  • Be the voice of the customer and work closely with your team of forward-thinking colleagues on finding and testing creative ways to solve our customers’ problems.
  • Maximize your skills and improve your learning within our product, data science stack and delivery processes as well as ad tech and online advertising in general.
  • Work together with your team to challenge and improve our existing processes, tools, technologies, and architectures.

We're definitely looking for you if you...

  • Have a strong understanding of the statistics required for probabilistic (Bayesian) modeling and ideally also have professional experience
  • Have a good understanding of machine learning theory as well as practical experience with applying it to solve real world business problems
  • Have strong Python skills for developing backend systems and are able to contribute to machine learning production systems and services
  • Have a pragmatic attitude with a collaboration spirit
  • Have strong customer empathy
  • Are willing to work from our Helsinki office twice a week

  2. Manager interview: get to know your future manager and learn more about your future team, their ways of working, and what they are working on currently.
  3. Technical interview: meet your new peers and showcase your knowledge and experience in statistics, machine learning, and probabilistic (Bayesian) modeling, and highlight any other relevant tech skills you have
  4. Analytics exercise: showcase your coding and analytics skills in an interactive session on some real data and in your preferred language (R, Python, Jupyter Notebooks).
