Skydweller Aerospace is at the forefront of solar-powered flight and autonomy. We recently completed the first autonomous flight of a large unmanned solar vehicle, boast a perfect safety record, and hold several world records. We are the first provider of perpetual flight in the form of a pseudo-satellite that can fly for extended durations.

We are growing quickly and are looking for students to support our mission and provide fresh perspectives through internship opportunities. This internship will focus on advanced RF systems for radar or communications applications. A wide range of candidate talents and backgrounds will be considered.

One-on-one mentorship will provide growth opportunities to the selected candidate(s). Internships are planned around important questions for the long-term success of Skydweller with many solutions paths and ample space for creativity. Students will have opportunities to make an immediate impact on systems that will actually be used. There is a chance your work could be flown within your internship!

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in college coursework for the Fall 2024 semester with graduation planned for 2025 or beyond.
  • Undergraduate or graduate students welcome
• Positive attitude and willingness to ask for help.
• Working knowledge of RF systems, computer science, material properties, or aerospace systems
• Must be US Citizen
  

Preferred Skills:

• RF material or integration testing experience
• Experience with HFSS and RF modeling.
• Basic knowledge of RF communication principles and equipment.
• Insight into the integration of RF communications within IP network systems.
• Basic knowledge of hardware/software encryption and virtual environments.
• Familiarity with cloud computing services.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python; basic troubleshooting skills using tools like Wireshark.
