The Role
The Compounding Operations Manager will play a vital role in supporting Ro’s compounding division across our facilities in Boynton Beach, FL and Buffalo Grove, IL. This role will provide support in ensuring our pharmacy operations adhere to the latest state and federal regulations, including USP guidelines for compounding pharmacies. This role will collaborate closely with various departments, including Legal, Product Development, Compliance, and Quality Assurance. This role will also partner with our Operations team and the Pharmacist-in-Charge at each facility to foster the growth and development of compounding personnel. Key responsibilities will include establishing effective documentation practices, ensuring proper equipment utilization and maintenance, and maintaining compliance with all relevant federal and state laws and compounding standards.
This full-time role requires an on-site presence at one of our compounding facilities (Boynton Beach, FL or Buffalo Grove, IL) and may involve travel between both locations. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Strategy and Process Improvement, contributing to the enhancement of our compounding operations and overall organizational success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the development of audits to ensure all compounding processes, equipment, and good documentation practices are completed as established by company standards.
  • Collaborate with the PIC and Compliance team to ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal compounding guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepare and compound pharmaceutical products according to established formulas and protocols, ensuring accuracy in measurements and techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized compounding environment, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in the development of training material for existing and new staff on compounding procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in compounding techniques.
  • Serve as Compounding subject matter expert and liaise between cross-functional teams, maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners in Supply Chain, Compliance, Operations, and Quality.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on initiative and goals.
  • Serve as the on-site SME for compounding, inspections, product development, and USP guidelines.
  • May be asked to obtain additional non-resident pharmacist licenses to support the needs of the pharmacy.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 5+ years of experience in a compounding role where you were responsible for product preparation
  • Intimate knowledge of the compounding process and best practices for formulations and procedures
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of at least 2 people
  • Strong understanding of compounding techniques, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
  • Highly independent and autonomous
  • PharmD from an Accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state of Illinois or Florida, with both licenses preferred
  • Strong, metric-driven operator who works well in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%
