What we’re looking for

This engineering position will lead our API infrastructure development and API integrations with partners that power ONRAMP’s advanced transportation payments platform. As we evolve into a multi-product strategy that includes software, our underlying API integrations are key to enabling innovation at pace.

Responsibilities

• Build ONRAMP’s API infrastructure, tooling, and documentation.
• Ensure our APIs are secure, reliable, and performant.
• Solve product problems and build delightful API and developer experiences for our internal and external users.
• Own our third-party API integrations with TMS, telematics, and other partners.
• Work across different products, tech stacks, and programming languages.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure our API integrations are aligned to business, customer, and partner needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer (start-up or another fast-paced work environment)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A strong passion for API design and amazing developer experiences.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements in an evolving environment.
• Strong technical background and experience with various software development methodologies.
• Security mindset with knowledge of API authentication and access mechanisms (such as OAuth, JWT).
• Experience with Go, Postgres, and scalable infrastructure (such as Kubernetes, Serverless, Lambda) and cloud providers (such as AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ability to effectively communicate with Customers and Partners, demonstrating clarity, humility, and precision.
• Low ego and excited to work across various functions to help move the business forward.
• Based in New York City, or willing to relocate.
• Legally qualified to work in the US.
