Overview The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting in the management of the company's financial accounting and reporting activities. This role includes overseeing the daily

accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, assisting in budgeting and

forecasting, and supporting the development and implementation of internal controls.

The Assistant Controller will collaborate with various departments to ensure the financial

health and compliance of the organization.

Role and Responsibilities

 Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual

financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting

Principles (GAAP). Ensure the timely and accurate recording of all financial

transactions. Prepare and analyze financial reports for management, highlighting

key trends and variances.

 Accounting Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the accounting

department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and

general ledger. Ensure all accounting processes are executed accurately and

efficiently. Review and reconcile key accounts on a regular basis.

 Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and

periodic forecasts. Monitor actual results against the budget, analyze variances,

and provide insights to management.

 Internal Controls: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining strong

internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of

financial information. Support internal and external audits by preparing required

documentation and providing necessary information.

 Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations,

including tax filings, financial reporting standards, and other legal requirements.

Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations that may

impact the organization.

 Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve

accounting processes and systems. Lead or participate in projects aimed at

improving financial operations and reporting.

 Team Leadership: Build the global accounting team based in India. Train and

develop team members. Provide guidance and support to accounting staff,

fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Desired Skills

 6-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong background in

financial reporting and general ledger management.

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

 CPA or CMA designation preferred.

 Experience in a supervisory or managerial role is a plus.

 Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

 Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft

Office Suite, particularly Excel.

 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

 Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

 Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
