Job Summary
The National Director of Key Accounts will be responsible for hiring, developing, and leading the national team of Key Account Directors (KADs). This role will report to the SVP of Marketing and provide exceptional leadership, perform with strategic agility, and display the importance of cross-collaboration with multiple company functions. This team leader will be expected to be a product champion leveraging extensive experience in pulmonary hypertension.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Prior, recent PH experience with deep, existing KOL relationships
  • 3+ years’ experience of direct reporting team management and leadership
  • Marketing and sales experience preferred, marketing or sales experience required
  • Consistent track record of delivering results and team-based accomplishment
  • Collaborative style by building trusted relationships with cross functional partners
  • Deep knowledge of academic medical centers understanding referral patterns and networks.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to present to large and small audiences.
  • Excellent product and disease state knowledge
  • Strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative and demonstrates the ability to lead through change, ambiguity, and complexity.
  • Strong understanding of the laws, regulations and rules governing the pharmaceutical industry, and history of ethical and compliant behavior.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%, including occasional weekend attendance at regional and national conferences
  • Launch experience highly preferred
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working with Specialty Pharmacy distributed therapies preferred
  • High social intelligence, integrity, and professionalism
  • Responsible for supervising operations of the national KAD team which includes hiring and coaching, professional development, performance management, and active involvement in strategic business planning
  • Lead the team’s identification and cultivation of professional relationships with key opinion leaders and leading centers within the PH community
  • Gather and provide KOL insights through personal and team KOL interactions about current treatment management patterns and future treatments that impact the development of commercial and marketing strategy, initiatives, and resources
  • Actively and consistently collaborate with KAD field engagements to strengthen existing and develop new business relationships with top KOL’s across the country
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Develop and implement regional KAD business plans and manage the team’s achievement of business objectives
  • Maintain required clinical and technical expertise to respond accurately to questions regarding products, marketing, policies, and business-related issues
  • Partner with commercial and medical leadership in accordance with compliance policies to develop and lead regional marketing activities
  • Demonstrate mastery of and adherence to all relevant compliance laws, policies, and processes; ensuring actions of self and team are fully compliant
