Job Summary

This role will drive our IT strategy, focusing on cybersecurity, risk management, while ensuring the integrity of our operations in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant environment. Partners with Liquidia’s executive management and functional departments and collaborates with fellow colleagues at all levels of the organization to impact and deliver on enhancing the company’s IT position both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Strategy and Oversight:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's sensitive data, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations to identify potential threats and proactively address security gaps.
  • Lead incident response and recovery efforts, working closely with the IT team to mitigate the impact of security breaches or cyber incidents.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and industry best practices to continuously improve the company's security posture.
  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to assess and manage IT-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead the SOX IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance program.
  • Implement and monitor risk management frameworks to identify, measure, and mitigate IT-related risks that could impact the company's operations or reputation.
  • Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership, the audit committee, and Board of Directors, if necessary.

Risk Management:

  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to assess and manage IT-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead the SOX IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance program.
  • Implement and monitor risk management frameworks to identify, measure, and mitigate IT-related risks that could impact the company's operations or reputation.
  • Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership, the audit committee, and Board of Directors, if necessary.

IT Strategy and Governance:

  • Develop and execute an overall IT strategy aligned with the company's business objectives, considering cybersecurity as a fundamental aspect of IT planning.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the IT team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and compliance within the department.
  • Establish IT governance practices to ensure efficient decision-making, resource allocation, and alignment with organizational goals.

Compliance and GMP Environment:

  • Ensure all IT activities and projects adhere to GMP guidelines, SOX and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Finance, and Compliance teams to maintain a robust GMP and SOX compliant IT environment.
  • Implement and oversee IT-related audit processes to ensure adherence to GMP, SOX, and compliance standards.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Encourage professional growth and development for team members, providing coaching and training opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with a minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership role within the IT domain, focusing on cybersecurity and risk management.
  • Solid understanding of GMP principles and experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective cybersecurity strategies, incident response plans, and risk management frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to information security and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent are highly desirable
