About Us:
Instrumental technology is used by the world’s most admired electronics brands, such as NVIDIA, Cisco, and Meta, to accelerate new product development and improve production yields. Our technology leverages AI to process data generated on the manufacturing floor, automating failure identification and resolution, improving yield, quality, and time-to-market. In the past few quarters, our technology has become mission-critical for AI server manufacturers. We’re rapidly growing our global presence to enable deeper integrations into our customers’ complex manufacturing environments.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager to join our high-performance team in Shenzhen. In this role, you will independently manage complex hardware and Data/MES customer, vendor, and CM projects — owning timelines, driving cross-functional alignment, and ensuring seamless execution from kickoff through deployment. You'll be a key interface for customers and manufacturing partners, translating technical challenges into clear solutions and building the kind of trusted relationships that define our customer experience.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or a related industry, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced, global environments. You take ownership of project quality, proactively identify risks, and continuously improve the processes and documentation that keep our operations running efficiently. With a sharp customer mindset, comfort navigating logistics and export compliance, and a drive to create measurable value at every stage of a program, you'll play a meaningful role in advancing AI-powered quality inspection across high-stakes manufacturing.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Mandarin and English.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in electronics manufacturing or a related field with a strong understanding of the processes and standards of the electronic manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and embrace new challenges, demonstrating persistence and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to travel within mainland China and throughout the APAC region (and potentially to our HQ office in Palo Alto, CA!) approximately 10%-20% of the time to support project deployment and customer activities.
  • Work experience demonstrating critical thinking, project management skills and technical understanding, or a Bachelor's degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) field.
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Manage Customer Deployment & Relationships: Partner closely with renowned electronics brands — including Meta, Bose, Cisco, and SolarEdge — to drive seamless product deployments. Serve as the primary liaison with Contract Manufacturers, establish trusted advisor relationships with customer operations teams, and travel across the APAC region as needed to support implementation and ensure sustained product performance.
  • Deliver on Assigned Projects: Independently manage all assigned project requirements end-to-end — developing project plans, tracking progress against milestones, and proactively addressing deviations. Leverage project management tools to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring every program is delivered on scope, on schedule, and to the highest quality standard.
  • Drive Platform Engagement & Customer Value: Become the go-to expert on Instrumental's platform — enhancing customer product development, leading training sessions, troubleshooting issues, and driving meaningful user engagement throughout implementation and ongoing support. Co-create value-added solutions that align deployment timelines and time-to-value with customer expectations.
  • Facilitate Logistics & Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the internal operations team to meet logistics priorities — including export compliance — for the efficient worldwide transfer of manufacturing equipment. Follow operational guidelines with meticulous attention to detail, and proactively translate on-the-job learnings into process improvements that strengthen the broader organization.
  • Communicate, Present & Support Cross-Functional Goals: Give compelling, audience-tailored presentations to internal and external stakeholders covering implementation overviews, platform metrics, and other business-critical messages. Proactively engage across teams as business needs arise to ensure Instrumental consistently meets its objectives.
