Hermeus is a startup developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. At Mach 5, more than twice the speed of the supersonic Concorde, passengers will be able to cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes. On the path to hypersonic passenger aircraft, Hermeus is partnering with government agencies including the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of autonomous aircraft that derisk the technology and solve urgent national security challenges. These products provide the data and confidence necessary to certify, produce, operate, and maintain safe and comfortable commercial aircraft. Hypersonic aircraft have the potential to create trillions of dollars of new global economic growth per year, unlocking significant resources that can be utilized to solve the world’s greatest problems.

We are seeking an exceptional Aerodynamics Engineer to contribute to the design and analysis of our hypersonic vehicles. As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of advanced aerodynamic solutions for our hypersonic vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and efficiency during high-speed flight. The Opportunity and How You'll Impact Hermeus:

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine aerodynamic designs for hypersonic vehicles.
Conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and analyses to assess aerodynamic performance and behavior.
Design, optimize, and evaluate vehicle configurations for high-speed flight and hypersonic travel.
Contribute to wind tunnel testing and experimental data analysis to validate CFD predictions.
Participate in the development and implementation of innovative aerodynamic solutions.
Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated vehicle design and performance.

About You:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
2+ years of relevant experience in aerodynamics and aerospace engineering.
Proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and tools.
Strong understanding of hypersonic aerodynamics principles and concepts.
Familiarity with aerodynamic design and analysis techniques for high-speed flight.
Solid programming skills (Python, MATLAB, etc.) for data analysis and modeling.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Multipliers

Knowledge of wind tunnel testing and experimental data analysis.
Previous experience in hypersonic or high-speed flight projects.
