About Delfina

Every pregnancy deserves to be seen, supported, and safe. Delfina is a maternal health technology company using AI-powered platform to support pregnant and postpartum patients. We partner with health plans, community health centers, health systems, and public sector agencies to close gaps in care before they become emergencies.

Our model is built on outcomes: we increasingly work through value-based arrangements with Medicaid and commercial health plans. That makes financial rigor central to our mission, not separate from it.

The role

We're looking for a Fractional CFO to own Delfina's financial strategy as we scale and prepare for our next phase of growth. You'll be a hands-on partner to our CEO, a trusted voice with our board and investors, and the person who translates our impact into a durable financial model.

This is a great fit for a finance leader who has done this before at an early-stage digital health company and wants their next chapter to matter for families.

What you'll do

  • Lead fundraising and investor relations: build the financial model, data room, and diligence responses; partner with the CEO on pitch and investor conversations
  • Own planning and reporting: annual budget, rolling forecasts, cash runway, and monthly board-ready reporting
  • Build the finance function: oversee accounting, close, audit readiness, tax, and outside providers (bookkeeping, payroll, legal)
  • Strengthen unit economics: cost-to-serve, gross margin, and contract profitability by partner and program
  • Manage risk and compliance: controls, grant and public-contract financial requirements, insurance, and vendor contracts
  • Shape payer contract economics: model pricing, value-based/risk arrangements with health plans and public partners
  • Advise the leadership team: bring financial clarity to hiring, pricing, and market expansion decisions

What you bring

  • CFO or VP Finance experience at one or more Seed–Series C digital health companies
  • Hands-on experience with payers and health plans — ideally Medicaid managed care, value-based contracts, or risk arrangements
  • A track record of supporting a successful priced equity round (Series A or later)
  • Board-level presence — you've presented to boards and investors and managed demanding stakeholders with clarity and calm
  • Comfort being both strategic and in depth in financial data — at our stage, there's no team to delegate to yet
  • Genuine commitment to health equity and to improving outcomes for women and families

Nice to have

  • Experience with public sector, grant, or government contract finance
  • Background in maternal, women's, or population health
  • Familiarity with FQHC or community health center economics
  • Prior experience as a fractional or part-time CFO across multiple companies

What we offer

  • Compensation: Monthly retainer or hourly rate options, equity eligibility if applicable
  • Flexible, remote-first engagement with a mission-driven team
  • Potential path to a full-time role as Delfina grows
