As part of our development in Egypt, we’re looking for a General Accounting and Payroll Specialist to handle daily accounting and payroll tasks, reporting functionally to our General Accountant Manager and our Payroll Manager, both based in Paris. In this transversal role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations in Egypt, ensuring accuracy and compliance while maintaining an employee-centric approach. In your day to day you will:
General accounting:
- Maintain Egyptian statutory bookkeeping in accordance with local regulations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Lead the month-end close process for Egypt, preparing all necessary bookings, reconciliations and reports
- Oversee ETA e-Invoicing/e-Receipt processes and ensure full VAT compliance in line with Egyptian tax regulations.
- Manage withholding tax filings and coordinate the issuance and collection of withholding tax certificates.
- Provide support to the payroll, P2P and treasury teams in ensuring all payments are done on time.
- Prepare and submit FDI reporting ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
- Collaborate with external accounting consultants and statutory auditors, providing necessary documentation and support for audits and statutory reporting.
Payroll:
- Transmit variable information to our external payroll provider (ADP Celergo) for the preparation of payslips.
- Collect, enter, and upload payroll data; prepare and extract payroll reports; manage related tasks.
- Coordinate with People Operations on payroll changes, including employee leavers, new hires, role changes, salary or wage adjustments…
- Gather local specific employee data in case of new hires
- Assist with the filling and submission of Form 1 and Form 6 for employee NOSI registration and deregistration
- Control payslip and review payroll reports to ensure correctness before payments.
- Ensure timeliness and correctness of declarations and payments towards the tax authorities, NOSI, and Martyr fund.
- Provide support to team members and employees, addressing queries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
- Handle Payroll audit
- Help with various local set-ups
What we’re looking for:
Technical Competencies
- Experience within a similar or equivalent position
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
- Good knowledge of Egypt Payroll regulations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable working with IT tools and numerical calculations
Non-Technical Competencies
- High level of rigor and attention to detail.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under deadlines
- Strong team player with effective communication, collaboration, and mutual support.
- Diplomatic and tactful communication skills, especially when dealing with employees.
- Curious and eager to learn new skills and knowledge.
