Who We Are
At Apartment List, we’re transforming how people rent—making it smarter, easier, and a lot less frustrating. Our platform has already matched over a 1.4 million renters with their next home, while helping properties fill units with the right residents. Backed by strong growth and a big vision, we’re building the future of renting—and inviting bold thinkers to help us shape it!
Apartment List is building the most trusted platform for renters to find homes they love. As a marketplace connecting renters with multifamily properties across the country, our platform powers millions of apartment searches each year.
Our business model is unique within the rental ecosystem. Unlike traditional Internet Listing Services that charge flat monthly listing fees, Apartment List operates largely on a Pay-Per-Lease (PPL) performance model, meaning our revenue is directly tied to successful renter outcomes. This creates a high-volume transactional billing environment with complex pricing models, partner agreements, and revenue attribution logic.
As we approach $200M in annual revenue, the scalability, accuracy and efficiency of our quote-to-cash infrastructure is becoming increasingly critical. Our systems, spanning Salesforce, NetSuite, internally developed lease attribution system, Celigo, Versapay billing and Tesorio collections tools, must evolve to support the next stage of growth.
To help lead this transformation, Apartment List is seeking a Senior Revenue Systems Architect to design, improve, modernize, and scale our quote-to-cash systems and processes.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Revenue Systems Architect to evolve our overall quote-to-cash design. The role will be responsible for the movement and design of data as well as the interconnectivity between systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and internally developed applications as a critical part of our go-to-market infrastructure.
We’re looking for a creative problem-solver with experience applying best practices to custom solutions and data models within a Salesforce and Netsuite system for accounting and billing operations. The candidate will partner closely with GTM, Data, Finance Revenue and Billing Operations, and Engineering teams to deliver high-impact solutions that drive business outcomes and scale with the company.
This is a highly hands-on technical leadership and management role. The ideal candidate is a player-coach who can lead complex cross-functional initiatives, influence technical direction, mentor and elevate other team members, and still contribute directly to architecture, systems design, and implementation work.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive process efficiency and data quality improvements across the complete Quote-to-Cash lifecycle.
  • Systems design and implementation of pricing and billing architecture and logic across multiple business revenue systems with the goal of having clear data governance.
  • Designing systems controls and automation that oversee governance and owning the platforms around ongoing reconciliation and audits (Salesforce vs. NetSuite vs. internally developed applications).
  • Experience with custom pricing and billing models and quote-to-cash workflows.
  • Collaboration on Quote-to-Cash Business process re-engineering in partnership with GTM, Finance and Engineering.
  • Experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite and integration platforms such as Celigo.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable solutions using Lightning Flow, Apex, and Salesforce APIs as well as any configurations within NetSuite.
  • Translate business requirements into well-architected technical solutions, with a focus on long-term maintainability and scalability.
  • Partner with stakeholders across GTM to deliver high-impact projects in revenue operations, analytics, and process automation.
  • Lead implementation of advanced automation beyond declarative tooling (triggers, async processing, platform events).
  • Establish and uphold engineering best practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD, documentation).
  • Manage a team to drive execution and elevate overall Salesforce, Netsuite, and internal revenue systems engineering maturity.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and administrating changes within the Salesforce and NetSuite platforms
  • 3+ years of experience owning Salesforce and NetSuite architectural decisions and implementations as a lead.
  • Strong experience with custom data modeling, complex business logic, and scalable automation patterns
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Lightning Experience
  • Deep understanding of NetSuite and Celigo, and its interconnections with other platforms
  • Proven experience designing and implementing integrations with third-party systems (e.g., REST APIs, ETL tools, middleware like Mulesoft, Segment, etc.)
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows
  • Experience working cross-functionally to translate ambiguous business needs into technical solutions
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives across multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Experience managing engineers, administrators, or technical team members and helping raise engineering maturity and operational standards.
  • Strong project leadership and execution skills, including driving alignment, managing ambiguity, and delivering scalable solutions in fast-moving environments.

Nice to Have

  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts (e.g., Java, C#, or similar)
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (Platform Events, CDC)
  • Exposure to data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.) and reverse ETL tools
  • Familiarity with GTM systems in the Salesforce ecosystem (e.g., marketing automation, billing, product analytics)

Why This Role

  • High-impact ownership over a mission-critical system that drives company growth
  • Opportunity to shape the technical direction of business critical revenue systems and architecture
  • Work alongside a high-performing, collaborative team
  • Exposure to a wide range of systems and modern data/GTM tooling
  • Encouraged to explore and adopt new technologies that improve scale and efficiency
