Who We Are
At Apartment List, we’re transforming how people rent—making it smarter, easier, and a lot less frustrating. Our platform has already matched over a 1.4 million renters with their next home, while helping properties fill units with the right residents. Backed by strong growth and a big vision, we’re building the future of renting—and inviting bold thinkers to help us shape it!
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst with deep multifamily housing expertise to join our team. In this role, you’ll serve as a bridge between vendor partner systems, our internal product and engineering teams, and our partners. You’ll lead complex integration projects, drive clarity on technical requirements, and ensure that our platform delivers accurate and transparent rental information to millions of renters.
Here’s what you’ll do as part of the team:
- Lead end-to-end requirements gathering for multifamily integrations including API and webhook configurations, features, and internal tools — translating business needs into clear technical specifications
- Write and maintain documentation (user stories, BRDs, data mappings, process flows, decision logs) that ensures clarity and alignment across Product, Engineering, and internal stakeholders
- Use SQL and data analysis to validate integrations, uncover insights, and guide product and business decisions by connecting integration performance to business outcomes like lead quality and conversion rates
- Monitor multifamily system integrations to ensure data flows are accurate, and timely — proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact renters or property partners
- Manage requirements and track progress in Jira, ensuring backlog items are prioritized, updated, and delivered effectively within Agile ceremonies
- Design and execute test plans to validate functionality and ensure data integrity across complex multifamily integrations
- Map end-to-end workflows to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities, recommending improvements that increase efficiency and scalability
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, internal stakeholders, and vendor partners to design scalable solutions, align on objectives, resolve issues, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Support teammates, share best practices, and help raise the bar for analysis, documentation, and business impact
- Model Apartment List’s Operating Principles — especially “Use speed to our advantage,” “Have unapologetically high standards,” and “Embrace the beautiful mess” while demonstrating a deep understanding of how technical decisions drive business impact
Here are the skills and experience you’ll need to be successful:
- You have 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or Product Analyst in SaaS, marketplace, or multifamily housing technology
- You have 3+ years of multifamily-specific integration experience with pricing & availability, leasing workflows, and tour booking systems through API integrations, webhook configurations, and data exchange protocols
- You’re hands-on with SQL and comfortable analyzing large datasets to support decision-making
- You have strong working knowledge of Jira for requirements management, backlog grooming, and sprint tracking
- You bring an analytical, detail-oriented approach to testing, with experience designing and executing test plans that validate functionality and data accuracy across complex systems.
- You excel at documenting requirements and translating them into actionable deliverables
- You have strong cross-functional collaboration skills, partnering seamlessly with Product, Engineering, internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
- You have experience monitoring and troubleshooting system integrations, ensuring accurate and reliable data flows
- You’re a systems thinker who can map end-to-end processes and spot both risks and opportunities for optimization
- You communicate with clarity, empathy, and influence — whether you’re working with onsite leasing staff, engineers, or executives
