Who We Are:
Apartment List is the premier rental matchmaking marketplace, revolutionizing the way renters and multifamily properties connect. Our renters enjoy a personalized, AI-powered search experience tailored to their needs, while our property partners leverage cutting-edge generative AI engagement tools and a performance-based pricing model to drive efficiency and results. Our mission is to be the go-to destination for renters and the unrivaled partner for properties, empowering everyone to rent with confidence through a success-driven model that delivers ease, speed, and control.
About the Role:
Apartment List is seeking a technically savvy, detail-oriented, and proactive Client Services Specialist to join our Client Services team. This role plays a critical part in supporting our partners beyond activation—ensuring they receive high-quality, timely support and a seamless post-launch experience.
As a subject-matter expert, you’ll handle complex, technical, and escalated issues that arise once a partner is live on our platform. You’ll leverage strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and cross-functional collaboration to identify root causes, drive resolutions, and improve the scalability of our support model.
This is a highly collaborative and impact-driven role. You’ll work closely with our Revenue Operations, Engineering, Product, and Go-To-Market teams to ensure live partners are supported proactively—not just reactively—while continually identifying ways to enhance internal tools, processes, and documentation.
If you’re excited by the idea of digging into systems, solving puzzles, and being a trusted expert for our live partners, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
  • Manage escalated or higher-complexity support cases from live partners, ensuring timely, effective resolutions with minimal partner disruption.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert (SME) on post-activation troubleshooting and platform behavior, supporting internal and partner-facing teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Implementation, and GTM teams to escalate bugs, uncover root causes, and resolve systemic issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce and internal tools to ensure clean data for reporting, compliance, and performance tracking.
  • Identify inefficiencies in active support workflows and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
  • Provide a positive partner experience by addressing concerns proactively, reinforcing platform value, and communicating clearly and compassionately.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for complex or repeatable scenarios.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 1–3 years of experience in a SaaS, support operations, or integration-heavy environment, ideally in a post-sales or client-facing technical role.
  • Proven problem-solver with strong analytical skills — comfortable investigating issues across logs, BigQuery, Salesforce, Postman, and internal tooling to trace root causes and drive resolution.
  • Technical fluency with web-based platforms, APIs, and data flows — while this isn’t a software engineering role, curiosity and comfort navigating systems is key.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal — able to explain technical concepts clearly to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Highly organized and adaptable — thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift often, and can manage multiple high-touch issues without sacrificing accuracy or follow-through.
  • Cross-functional collaborator — experienced working across teams (Product, Engineering, GTM, Implementation) to align on solutions and advocate for the client’s best interests.
  • Process-oriented mindset — not only able to resolve issues, but also interested in improving the underlying workflows, documentation, or handoffs that created them.
  • Nice to have: Proficiency in tools like Salesforce, Jira, Postman, and Google BigQuery (or SQL-like querying experience).
