Automation Engineer - Telco / ISP Networking
Aim Security
Welcome to the future of cloud networking and security!
Cato Networks is the first company to converge enterprise networking and security into one centralized and global service that is delivered by cloud. It is led by networking and security pioneer Shlomo Kramer (Check Point, Imperva) and early investor (Palo Alto Networks, Exabeem, Trusteer and more). Cato’s unique technology inspired a brand-new product category, later named “SASE” by Gartner and a market expected to reach $28.5 billion by 2028.
This is your opportunity to get on the rocket ship and join a company that is building a cutting-edge enterprise network and secure cloud platform, and is on a fast track to becoming the worldwide market leader – don’t miss it!
We are looking for an Automation Engineer – Telco / ISP Networking to join our Networking & Platform Automation group. This role focuses on Internet-facing, carrier-scale networking, customer connectivity, and complex multi-region routing scenarios.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated system and integration tests for carrier-grade networking scenarios
- Validate Internet BGP architectures, multi-region routing, and PoP connectivity
- Model and test complex routing policies, traffic engineering, and failover scenarios
- Build automation for customer integration flows, including peering, routing validation, and traffic verification
- Define and maintain realistic Telco / ISP-like test environments (multi-AS, multi-PoP, Internet edge simulations)
- Collaborate with Network Engineering and Customer teams to reproduce, validate, and prevent field issues
- Develop automation infrastructure, libraries, and tools to support large-scale networking tests
- 4+ years of experience in automation, system testing, or network engineering roles
- Strong Telco / ISP networking background – must
- Proven ability to design, build, or operate Internet BGP architectures for global or multi-region networks
- Deep understanding of BGP, routing policies, traffic engineering, and PoP connectivity
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) in complex environments
- Experience testing or operating carrier-grade or Internet-facing networks
- Strong understanding of Layer 3–7 networking concepts
- Hands-on experience with Linux – must
- Solid OOD / OOP and coding skills (Java preferred)
- Experience with virtualized or cloud environments (ESX, AWS, Azure)
- Ability to debug complex networking issues using logs, metrics, and packet captures (Wireshark – advantage)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with customers or partners on network integrations
- Background in ISPs, Telcos, IXPs, or large-scale cloud networks
- Familiarity with Internet peering models, transit providers, and routing security concepts
