Role Overview:
We are looking for a world-class Quality Engineer to join our dynamic Supply Chain organization. As a seasoned and adept manager, you will lead a team of skilled Supplier Quality Engineers and be responsible for delivering components of the highest quality throughout every phase of the product life cycle. Your expertise will not only ensure seamless collaboration with suppliers but will also elevate the overall quality, reliability, and performance of Aeva’s 4D LiDAR.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and inspire a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth and collective success.
  • Assume end-to-end ownership of supplier quality, orchestrating its enhancement from initial sourcing to full-scale production and beyond.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sourcing, development, and production teams to integrate quality considerations at every stage of the supply chain.
  • Craft and implement innovative quality initiatives, setting the bar for industry best practices and raising the organization's competitive edge.
  • Execute the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) methodology in conjunction with suppliers, spanning from the initial design phase through PPAP submission and the commencement of mass production.
  • Contribute to strategic supplier selection by conducting rigorous audits and site inspections to validate adherence to rigorous automotive quality management protocols.
  • Drive the development and execution of supplier performance metrics, continuously evaluating and ensuring adherence to predefined quality standards.
  • Spearhead the resolution of escalated quality issues, utilizing your analytical prowess and collaborative spirit to swiftly address and mitigate challenges.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, infusing your insights into our supplier quality strategies to ensure future readiness.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 8 years of experience with a proven track record of success in Quality Engineering roles, ideally within supply chain and manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, inspiring and managing teams to achieve ambitious goals
  • Advanced knowledge of high volume manufacturing processes and inspection methodologies
  • Expert in automotive quality management standards such as IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3, coupled with the ability to adapt them to a diverse supplier landscape
  • Proficient in applying automotive core tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Self- starter who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to new challenges within a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to define complex problem statements, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Experienced in selecting and developing new suppliers and performing process audits to accepted industry standards
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with internal teams, suppliers, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

  • Certified ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 Lead Auditor
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt accredited
