Role Overview:
The Facilities Technician supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety, and functionality of an approximately 95,000-square-foot facility and warehouse. This hands-on role works closely with the Facilities Manager and team to maintain a safe, clean, reliable, and professional workplace.
What you will do
- Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance throughout offices, warehouse, labs, common areas, and exterior spaces.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs involving electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, furniture, and other building systems.
- Identify issues requiring specialized or licensed contractors and coordinate service as needed.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance areas.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, service records, and work orders.
- Monitor facility systems and identify potential problems before they become major disruptions.
- Participate in the emergency response program and provide 24/7 on-call support for facility emergencies, including leaks, flooding, power outages, HVAC failures, fire/life-safety issues, security concerns, spills, equipment failures, and building damage.
- Respond to non-emergency Facilities requests within 24 hours.
- Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and follow through on corrective actions.
- Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and applicable regulations.
- Support fire/life-safety inspections, emergency drills, and preparedness activities.
- Maintain safe access to exits, electrical panels, equipment areas, and designated safety zones.
- Maintain organized and safe warehouse, storage, loading dock, and material-handling areas.
- Assist with moving and staging furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment when trained and authorized.
- Support workstation setups, employee moves, office reconfigurations, furniture installation, meetings, and facility events.
- Maintain common areas, conference rooms, kitchens, restrooms, and facility supplies.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with vendors, contractors, inspections, repairs, and facility projects.
- Provide site access and monitor contractor work for safety, quality, and completion.
- Support facility moves, expansions, space changes, fleet areas, exterior areas, waste/recycling, and other facility projects as assigned.

What you have
- 5+ years of facilities, building maintenance, warehouse maintenance, property maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of general building systems and maintenance practices.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, flooring, and general repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple requests, and provide excellent customer service.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various facility environments.
- Ability to safely lift and move approximately 50–100 lbs. with assistance or mechanical equipment when appropriate.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or after-hours shifts for emergencies or operational needs.
